Phones are very smart these days with all of their apps, and many people have tablets stashed in their bags — whether they are an iPad, Nook or Kindle Fire. And if your kids are anything like mine, then they are probably often trying to get you to let them play with your sophisticated gadget. And although it’s cute to watch my 2 year old play Can Knockdown or practice his letter-writing app, I’m always secretly thrilled when he chooses to open one of his ebooks instead.
Now, there are lots of places you can buy ebooks these days, but did you know that one of these places is BookPeople? That’s right. BookPeople and lots of other local indies around the nation participate in the Google eBooks program. If you have an android or IOS (Apple) device, just download the Indiebound Reader app, and you are set. If you have something else, like a Nook or Kindle Fire, do not despair. You can still support your local indie and get your ebooks downloaded into these devices. In fact, we have an entire section of our website dedicated to helping you get our ebooks onto your device.
And once you’re ready to start shopping for ebooks at BookPeople, let me make a few suggestions of some great books to download for your kids: (Click on any book to go to its page.)
