This Saturday, September 19th, we will be welcoming Diana López, author of the delightful new chapter book Confetti Girl! We hope you’ll join us!
Apolonia “Lina” Flores is a sock enthusiast, a volleyball player, a science lover, and a girl who’s just looking for answers. Even with her Dad’s extensive book collection available, she’s having trouble figuring out some very big questions, like why her
Dad seems to care about books more than her, why her best friend’s divorced mom is obsessed with making cascarones, and, most of all, why her Mom died last year. Like colors in cascarones, Lina’s life is a rainbow of people, interests, and unexpected changes. This is a well-reviewed book from debut author Diana López. Come meet this lovely and undeniably talented new author and get a copy of Confetti Girl (a perfect middle grade book) signed on Saturday at 1PM.
Wearing wacky socks in highly encouraged!
HELP! I have been having problems getting my 12 y/o daughter to read since last year. At her school she is required to have 12 AR points per quarter. This is the 3rd quarter this year she has not met her goal. She starts a book and just cant get into it and quits. She does this over and over again. This last quarter she picked up Confetti Girl and read it from beginning to end in 3 days. I was amazed! Its the first time she actually showed intrest in what she was reading and retained the information well enough to pass the AR test.
Im so sad Diana Lopez does not have any other AR books. Can you please make some suggestions as to what books would be similar to Confetti Girl?
Thanks for your time!
Great lines. I’ll certainly pass this over to my male friends
