This week I love…
Gods of Manhattan & Spirits in the Park, both by Scott Mebus
Here are three reasons why:
1. Gods of Manhattan has my favorite little girl character ever – Bridget Hennessy. She’s 10 years old, wears combat boots, has a cardboard sword named “Butt-kicker” and has a collection of Malibu Death Barbies. Awesome!
2. There are little dudes wearing cockroach armor who ride around on the backs of highly-trained War Rats.
3. There are exciting adventures through underground tunnels, attacks by giant-sized animals, evil magicians, and run-ins with an ethnically diverse group of immortal men and women from New York’s colorful past.
Make the Spirit World of Manhattan your first stop this summer!
